The Doctor’s Bag

The iconic doctor’s bag: perhaps no image is more evocative of medical practice, especially in the 20th century, than the doctor’s bag.  The bag, generally made of black leather, allowed doctor’s to carry instruments, syringes, and medicines to treat patients on home visits.   But doctor’s bags themselves are not all alike.  Come back to see our virtual and physical exhibit on the uses and diversity of the doctor’s bag.
